Handball Club Toronto Crowned World Series of Handball Champions in Las Vegas
Las Vegas, Nevada, 2026: Handball Club Toronto has returned home with a championship trophy after an outstanding run at the World Series of Handball in Las Vegas, this past weekend.
Representing Toronto and Ontario on the international stage, HC Toronto put together a dominant tournament campaign, combining high-scoring offensive performances with composure in a thrilling close match to ultimately capture the World Series title.
Toronto Starts Strong
HC Toronto opened its tournament campaign on Thursday with a commanding 33–15 victory over Las Vegas, immediately establishing itself as a team to watch.
Toronto’s strong start continued on Friday, although the second match provided a much greater test. In a thrilling contest against Massif Salt Lake, HCT held on for a hard-fought 26–24 victory.
The two-goal win showcased Toronto’s ability to perform under pressure and find a way to win when the margin for error was slim.
On Saturday, Toronto returned to its dominant form, defeating Seattle Handball Club 36–18.
Across its first three matches, HC Toronto scored 95 goals while conceding just 57, demonstrating the balance of offensive firepower and defensive strength that would define its championship run.
A Championship Run for HC Toronto
The World Series of Handball brought together clubs from across North America and beyond for five days of competition in Las Vegas. The 2026 event featured indoor handball alongside wheelchair handball and represented a major opportunity for the sport to showcase its growing presence in the United States and across the continent.
