Call for nominations for Handball Ontario Board of Directors
Team Handball Ontario Annual General Meeting
Team Handball Ontario (THO) invites all eligible voting club and academies to attend the 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday, August 23, 2026. The AGM gives members an important look at THO’s work over the past year, including updates on operations, finances, and the direction of the organization moving forward.
This year’s AGM will be hosted virtually. The meeting will run from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Attending the AGM
Each member club and academy in good standing may send one representative from its Board of Directors to attend and vote on its behalf. The agenda and virtual meeting link will be shared with all Members in advance of the meeting.
Only voting members in good standing are entitled to participate in votes held at the AGM.
Board Elections
Two positions on THO’s Board of Directors are open for election at this year’s AGM:
- President (4-year term)
- Director at Large (4-year term)
We welcome nominations from anyone interested in helping lead Team Handball Ontario into its next chapter. You do not need a specific professional background or designation to run, what matters most is a genuine interest in the sport and a willingness to serve. Board members can generally expect to spend between 2-4 hours per month on matters related to the organization.
Eligibility
To be eligible for nomination to the Board, a candidate must:
- Be at least eighteen (18) years of age and have the legal capacity to contract under Ontario law
- Not hold a material affiliation (ownership, employment, coaching, or executive role) with any THO Member club or academy
- Not be an undischarged bankrupt
Candidates for President must additionally have served on THO’s Board in a Director or Officer role for the full term immediately preceding this nomination. Service in a non-consecutive or historical term alone does not satisfy this requirement.
How to Apply
Interested candidates must submit and sign a completed Nomination Form to be nominated to communications@handballontario.com no later than 5:00 PM EST on Friday, August 14, 2026.
Nominations will not be accepted from the floor at the AGM.

Meeting materials, including the full agenda and virtual meeting link, will be distributed to all member clubs and academies in advance of the AGM.
